Children’s cancer charity looking for more volunteers
To mark National Volunteers’ Week (1st-7th June), CLIC Sargent, the UK’s children’s cancer charity, has published a review called "Voices of Volunteers". Produced with the help of volunteers, it outlines the organisation’s commitment to its unpaid workforce, and highlights areas where the charity can further improve the support it offers them.
CLIC has more than 1,000 volunteers: many of those work in the charity’s 28 shops, 150 work on the front line supporting children, young people and families directly, more than 400 run committees and branches each raising much needed funds for the organisation, and the remaining volunteer in CLIC Sargent offices around the UK.
Together last year they helped raise more than £2 million of its £19.7 million total income - an impressive achievement.
