Show your skills in Plymouth!

If you are over 55 and have completed a piece of art or craft work during the past twelve months, then you are eligible to enter Plymouth Age Concern’s 55th Skilled Hands Art and Craft Exhibition this June.

This delightful annual event offers both local groups and individuals the chance to be awarded for their skill and achievement. Needlecrafts, photography, sugarcraft and pottery are among the many art and craft classes to choose from and exhibitors may, if they wish, incorporate this year’s theme “Transport – Past and Present” in their work. Disability and difficulty are taken into account by the judges, and all exhibitors receive a certificate for having taken part.

Over the years, the Skilled Hands Exhibition has helped encourage people to maintain or take up an interest in art and crafts.  Exhibition organiser, Mrs. Chris Newham, said: “The continuing success of the event is due entirely to the exhibitors themselves, many of whom enter every year. This is not a professional show but one which we hope is enjoyed by everyone – exhibitors and visitors alike”.

Apart from the wonderful displays of work, visitors to the exhibition will also be able to watch craft demonstrations, enter competitions and enjoy a chat over a cup of tea.
