Send in your photos for a summer exhibition
16/04/2007
MIll Green Museum in Hatfield will be holding a special exhibition this July called "Holiday Heaven" - a cheerful and nostalgic look at holidays from years gone by.
Most of us have an album stashed away somewhere full of holiday memories, whether they are fun, disastrous, sad or just a snapshot of a certain bygone age. Some families even have albums going back to great grandmother’s day. But whatever the age of your collection, Mill Green Museum wants to hear from you.
Curator Caroline Rawle and her team of local volunteers are preparing the exhibition for the summer holiday season. "It’s the story of everyday life which is so important to local history," says Caroline. "Maybe you were the first person in your street to fly on holiday to Spain, or your family holidays have special traditions of their own. We just want to hear your story."
So whether you went to Skegness with Auntie Sheila, or New York on the Queen Mary, it’s time to share those fabulous old photos. The Museum will copy and return all photographs before the exhibition.
For all enquiries contact Caroline Rawle, at Welwyn Hatfield Museum Service, Mill Green Museum, Mill Green, Hatfield, AL9 5PD. Or call 01707 271 362 or visit the weblink below.
"Holiday Heaven" runs from July 14th – Dec 31st, Mon-Fri 10.00 – 5.00 weekends and bank holidays 2.00 – 4.00pm.
Send in those photos! You can either email them to c.rawle@wellhat.gov.uk or use the snail mail address above.
