Post Offices: listen before it is too late
26/02/2007
Please wake up and DO something to save our local Post office. Get your local council to support - and your MP too.
How about getting the Post Office in your area to get signatures of objection, with reasons why Post offices in rural areas should unite, such as:
1. The elderly may be forced to travel quite a way - what about their transport?
2. When you get to a main Post Office most cannot cope with the extra work. (In St Neot's area, for example, the queues are outside in all kinds of weather. My daughter finds it better to travel two miles to the Little Paxton sub post-office).
3. For the elderly, it's very important for them to have help filling in forms, which can be very complex for them, with a lot of small print and too many questions.
I was a sub Post Mistress for 34 years. I hope they listen before it is too late.
