Gift is the bee's knees
17/11/2006
Do you have a partner who has everything? Are you looking for a gift that is totally different from anything you have bought him or her before? A gift that will provide plenty of opportunity for fresh air, exercise and, at the end of summer, a sweet reward.
Well how about this one. Bedfordshire Beekeepers are offering gift vouchers that entitle the recipient to attend a beginners' course in 2007. The courses are held in Priory Park, Bedford (next spring) and Stockwood Park, Luton (next autumn).
The courses last for six weeks and included in the price is the excellent book 'Teach yourself Beekeeping' that provides an insight into beekeeping. Essential reading before attending the course. Also included in the price is an annual membership fee for the Association.
So you have a present that will give pleasure during the winter months, then something to look forward to in springtime and a year’s membership that gives a whole heap of benefits. Just to name a few - discounts on various beekeeping items, jars, frames etc. Regular newsletters and an excellent yearbook, many talks on the fascinating insect the honeybee.
And the cost of the gift voucher is just £35 or £50 per couple. Contact Wally Thrale on 01767 225846 or w.thrale@ntlworld.com.
