Fancy a job involving the great outdoors?

As the profile of people enjoying outdoor activities changes to reflect a healthier older population, Blacks Leisure Group (BLG), who run the high street clothing and outdoor equipment shops Blacks, Millets and Free Spirit, are running a major recruitment drive to attract a more diverse range of staff – including older people.

People of all ages enjoy hiking, camping, climbing and surfing, says Russell Hardy, CEO, Blacks Leisure Group. “As a nation we can all enjoy the great outdoors.  We want our employees to reflect the passion our customers have for the outdoors.  We want to attract people to work with us who enjoy the great outdoors themselves and want to help our customers enjoy it as well.”

While internal branding and communications have featured diverse age groups since spring, from today all recruitment marketing materials, from in-store posters to job advertisements, point of sale postcards and referral cards will follow suit.  In addition, BLG is launching a special website www.working-adventure.com where prospective employees can learn more about the benefits of a career at one of its high street retail outlets.
