maestro Federico Fellini’s Casanova starring screen stalwart Donald

Sutherland as the legendary lothario.

 

Casanova is one of Fellini’s most spectacular productions and comes to DVD

on 17 May 2010 courtesy of Mr Bongo Films.

 

Based on the memoires of Casanova, Fellini offers his version using rare

visual daring and imagination. The film features a breathtaking performance

from the sultry Sutherland as the original playboy in his latter days as he travels through Europe engaging in a variety of amorous adventures.

 

Featuring a compelling score by long-standing collaborator, Nino Rota and garnering an Oscar for its costume design by Danilo Donati, Casanova is

viewed as the directors’ nostalgic paean to a bygone era of classic Italian

cinema.

 

Fellini is one of cinema’s most creative and influential forces who directed

such groundbreaking films as La Dolce Vita and Amarcord.
