Take a giant leap this Leap Year!
- Monday, 23 January 2012
Over 60 per cent of us confessed to wasting a day during the past year a recent survey has revealed. Nearly a third of those who have wasted a day admitted it was due to boredom and not having anything interesting to do, and 32 per cent blamed bad weather for being lazy.
This February we all have an extra day because 2012 is a Leap Year and to celebrate, leading dementia charity, Alzheimer's Society invites you, your friends and family to take a giant leap for people with dementia. You can sign up to do an exhilarating 10,000ft parachute jump or take on an abseil down a 400ft tall tower.
Alzheimer's Society and Alzheimer Scotland are currently Tesco Charity of the Year and hundreds of Tesco staff and customers will be taking on the ‘Leap Year Challenge’ during February. They are set to raise thousands for the charities which help people with dementia and their carers.
Don’t waste the extra day this year, use it to do something really rewarding for yourself and for charity! Various times, dates and venues are available across the UK. To find out more call 0845 678 7678 or visit alzheimers-tesco.org.uk
