A FREE Exhibition for the 55+ and near, at or in Retirement

retirement show_1The Guildhall, Gloucester is the place to be on the 14th April 2012 between 9 and 3-30 because the Retirement Roadshow is coming to town.

The show is being organized by The National Careline and is aimed at those near/at and in retirement. There are many areas that concern this group of people, particularly health and well being, but items concerning tax, money, housing, care, mobility, furnishing and legal issues are tackled too.

 

It will provide the answers to questions such as the following:-

  • Life in the bathroom is not as easy to manage as it was, I would like to know more about a wet room.
     
  • I need more room to care for my elderly relative, what does an extension cost?
     
  • My mother can’t remember if she has taken her medication or not, how can I prevent her taking too much?
     
  • I want to stay in my own home, is there a company that provides live-in care?
     
  • Come along and meet The National Careline Solicitor, Jon Wilkey. Jon writes for many publications and answers all the legal queries which come through our helpline.

The National Careline has brought together lots of exhibitors to give people FREE access to these experts so that they can come along and gather the information they need – to get the answers to those things that people need to know about because having the correct information could improve their lives in so many ways.

  • retirement show_2The Pensions Advisory Service will be handing out copies of the new Money Made Clear document 'Your Guide to Retirement' – also are you receiving the correct amount of pension?
     
  • Paddy Millard from Tax Help for Older People (TOP) will be helping solve those particular taxation problems that occur at and in retirement – ie are you paying too much tax?
     
  • You can save a great deal with a funeral plan, Dignity will be here to show you how they work
     
  • Find out from Jon Wilkey of Gwyn James Solicitors what to do if someone is unable to make decisions anymore and other very topical legal queries.
     
  • The team from Boots will be attending with their pharmacy departments being represented. So if you have any medication queries these are the people to see.
     
  • Housing and where you receive care when you get to the stage of needing it is another big issue with not everyone needing the same solution:-
     
  • Broadhurst Timber Frame Extensions – for those who may have an elderly relative coming to live with them and they need the extra room.
