Strictly Ballroom tea dance in Greenwich

Greenwich Dance’s popular season of themed Tea Dances continues in March with a Strictly Ballroom special.


The social dance at 2pm on Saturday 3 March will give everyone the opportunity to step out in style, celebrating the traditional glitz and glamour of Ballroom dance.

Tea Dance_Stars_and_Stripes1American jazz singer Kai Hoffman and her vintage band Kai’s Cats will be playing classic songs for Sequence and Ballroom dances. Thomas Michael Voss, Greenwich Dance’s Ballroom teacher, who has helped coach the stars of BBC1’s Strictly Come Dancing, will be on hand to guide any beginners through the steps.

The beautiful 1930's Borough Hall in Greenwich, has played host to Tea Dances for several decades and is the perfect setting for an afternoon of socialising, live music and dancing.   

Brendan Keaney, Director at Greenwich Dance said: ‘Our Tea Dances are a very popular way for local people of all ages and walks of life to come together, dance and have fun.’  

‘While many people will enjoy revisiting the dance styles of their youth, it also offers younger people the opportunity to sample the bygone era of social dances for themselves."
