Payingforcare.co.uk celebrates its 1st birthday with over 100,000 unique visitors

Paying for_care_logoThe Payingforcare website, which was launched last year by annuity specialists, Partnership, is today celebrating its first birthday, having successfully attracted 100,000 unique visitors.

The website provides users with clear, impartial information on all aspects of social care funding, including how to liaise with local authorities. In addition it enables consumers to speak to a qualified financial adviser whilst on the site.  It also includes a search engine that can help users find a qualified financial adviser that is appropriate for their needs, in their local area.

Since the website was launched, www.payingforcare.co.uk has attracted 101,676 unique visitors to the site with highest visits in July and December – possibly indicating times of the year when users are spending time on holiday at home with their families.

Further research has found, however, that most people browse the site from work and not from home and that the typical visitor is likely to be aged between 35-54 and a woman without children.

The most popular topics for visitors were:

  • Cost of care
  • Payment options
  • State support information

In a regional breakdown most visitors were from London (21,622 visits) with Kensington (3,690) the most popular borough.

Outside of London, the breakdown of users was:

      1. Manchester (3,522)
      2. Birmingham (3,446)
      3. Glasgow (2,173)
      4. Edinburgh (2,044)
      5. Leeds (1,968)
      6. Sheffield (1,809)

Chris HorlickChris Horlick, managing director, Care at Partnership: “We introduced www.payingforcare.co.uk because of the real need for a comprehensive and impartial care funding information.  In 2009, for example, there were 29 million Google searches on the term ‘paying for care’ and similar search terms. A staggering 83% of people were unaware of what help they were entitled to from central and local government for paying care costs.”

“We believe a large part of the success of this site is the fact that users now have direct access to a qualified care adviser.  People often need to be able to get hold of information quickly in order to make very important funding decisions for family members that require care. At what is often a stressful time having immediate access to advice that is both impartial and from an expert can be invaluable.”
